Web Service Options

Web Service

Status

Displays the current status of the web service.

Web

If the web service status is Opened, will display a link to the web service address.

Port

The port you would like the web service started on. This options is only available when the web service is not running.

Load on startup

If enabled, the web service will start when meta<browser/> launches.

Sort media items by Date Added

If enabled, media items retrieved through the web service will be sorted by Date Added descending.

Allowed Paths

Allowed paths is another security measure that will only allow the web service to access paths in the allowed list. If enabled, only files under the web root path (C:\ProgramData\MetaBrowser\2.0) and media locations paths will be allowed by default. You would then need to manually add any locations to the allowed list that you want the web service to have access to (for example, Actor images location).

Enable allowed paths

If enabled, will only allow the web service to access files under the web root path, media location paths, and any paths you define in the allowed list.

Password Protection

Password protection options are only available when the web service is not running.

Enable password protection

If enabled, will require a username and password to access any web service endpoints.

Username

The desired username to use for accessing web service endpoints (not case sensitive).

Password

The desired password to use for accessing web service endpoints (case sensitive).
