Trial¶
The trial can be downloaded from the Files section.
The trial will always be the latest available version of meta<browser/> so you can evaluate the new features that have been added recently. meta<browser/> contains auto-update so you only have to download the application once and the auto-update will keep the application up to date.
Login¶
All users are required to login. Users wanting to evaluate meta<browser/> can use the following credentials to enable the trial:
Username: trial Password: trial
Note: You need .NET Framework 4 FULL installed (not client profile). Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4 .
Limitations¶
The trial version has the following limitations:- 21 day trial limit per version
- Random items in your collection will be available for you to edit/save (you must have at-least 20 items in your collection)
- All other items will be available for you to edit, but saving is disabled
- Download Trailer (for a specific movie) is not available in the trial
- Download All Trailers is not available in the trial
- Download Recent Trailers is not available in the trial
- Refresh List and Refresh Item are not available in the trial
- Fetching metadata when a new item is detected (real time monitoring or polling) is not available in the trial
- Fetching metadata on first refresh or every refresh (for newly detected items) is not available in the trial
- Process All is not available in the trial
- Global Plugins are not available in the trial
Quick Start¶
- Download and Install the latest version from the Files section.
- Download and extract MediaIcons.rar to C:\ProgramData\MetaBrowser 2.0\MediaIcons
- Download and extract TestMedia.rar to your desktop (only if you want test media to use with meta<browser/>)
- Launch meta<browser/> from the shortcut created on your desktop
- Use the autoupdate to download and install the available plugins (you must have atleast one local, saver and fetcher installed for you to properly evaluate the trial version)
- Configure your Settings (set your Locations and Plugin options)
- Click Rebuild and let meta<browser/> build the meida collection list
Notes¶
- Netflix fetcher requires a Netflix developer account
- Register for a Netflix Developer Account
- Once registered, enter your API Key and Shared Key in the Netflix Plugin options
- Amazon fetcher requires an Amazon product advertising API
- Register for an Amazon Product Advertising API
- One registered, enter your API Key and Shared Key in the Amazon Plugin options
- Rotten Tomatoes fetcher requires a Rotten Tomatoes API key
- Register for a Rotten Tomatoes API Developer Account
- Once registered, enter your API Key in the Rotten Tomatoes Plugin options
- MyMovies fetcher requires 2500 points for it to be used
- You can Purchase API Access or Request a Trial
- Once you have 2500 points, enter your Username and Password in the MyMovies Plugin options
- Passion fetcher requires credits to be purchased
- Register for a Passion-XBMC account
- Purchase credit
- Once your purchase credit, enter your Username and Password in the Passion Plugin options
- MediaInfo requires MediaInfo.dll for it to work
