Media Collection (iPad)

Added by fatal over 5 years ago

Got myself an iPad so decided to create a more iPad centric web app to browse your collection. It doesn't work as smooth as I would like but this is as smooth as it will get without going to a native iPad app. It works wonderfully using Firefox on your desktop.

Will be available next update (2.2.40)

Hey fatal,
I'm currently building an api to control Media Browser.

What is your goal with this? Library management? Potentially offering the ability to stream to the device? If you have any interest in controlling an individual htpc you could use the MB api.

Hey Luke,

I'm currently building an api to control Media Browser.

Yup, saw it and played around with it.

My goal is just to be able to browse your library online, I don't have any plans for offering ability to stream to the device.

If you have any interest in controlling an individual htpc you could use the MB api.

The Media Center Addin I have actually does just that...it allows you to control Media Center through the meta browser Web Service. If you install the Add In and use the Media Collection Mobile web app you'll see that it comes with a remote control.

For anyone else a little slow on the uptake (like me) who wants to try out this sexy beast of a UI, a couple of things to check:

Make sure the web service is running. If it's not, and you can't enable it, make sure you're running meta browser as an admin. I wasn't, this slowed me down somewhat

Make sure you've downloaded the plugin. Bottom right of the screen there's Check for updates/manage plugins - it's hard to see at first, I was clicking around for a while before I found it :-)

Absolutely SMASHING ui fatal. You rock my world!

I like this media display - quite a lot actually

Looks great in chrome on a PC
Looks great on Android(!) tablets - not just iPads
Asus transformer prime in Dolphin browser
Samsung Galaxy tab2 7 in Chrome - Looks great on a 7" tablet

Looks ok on an iPad :)

on a phone/galaxy SII - looks OK - mobile is better here

maybe change the name ? After all you don't want to be sued for not having paid to license the use of iPad

One thing - the cast button does not work - "show all" anywhere I've tried
on tablet, or chrome on a pc

Thanks a lot
One of the reason I purchased the app - keep up the good work

Hello all.
How do you access the iPad Web App?
I have the web service running and when I connect to http://localhost:7000/web/ I can only select Media Collection (Mobile) and Movie Collection but nothing iPad related ...
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Don't forget you must have the latest metabrowser
http://themetabrowser.com/projects/metabrowser-v2/files

and then remember to add all 3 webapp plugins

Then when you go to the browser all 3 choices will be available

Thank you!!!
Stupid me forgot to check available plugins ... and there was it :)

Thank you, beautiful work...

Just one question : How change background color ? I would like change grey to black...

Thank you.

Open C:\ProgramData\MetaBrowser 2.0\Web\MediaCollectioniPad\index.html in notepad, around the 16th line, just before the img.shadow line, add this;

.ui-page { background:#000000; }

Save your file and you should be good to go.

Thank you very much, the Android look is awesome.

Last thing, what the code so that the text of titles, synopsis, timing are white ?

RE: Media Collection (iPad) - Added by craigmc about 5 years ago

In a similar place add in;

.ui-body-b { color:#fff; }

You may also want to remove the shadow which is on the text since its a white shadow on white text now so just makes the text look blurry;

.ui-body-b { color:#fff; text-shadow:none; }

Cheers

Hi,

kommen vielleicht irgendwann nochmal die MediaCenter Controls auch mit in das iPad Theme? Das wäre wirklich genial!
