This plugin was thought of many times, as it has a wealth of trailers, especially for older movies, but was always thrown out as an automated way to grab trailers b/c there was no concrete way to match the search results returned to the actual movie.

So now, instead of an automated way, this global plugin will allow you to manually search for and download trailers for your movies within the metabrowser interface.

The YouTube Downloader window stays on top of your metabrowser window, but still allows you to access the main metabrowser GUI, allowing you to easily select and search for trailers for your collection.

Notes¶

• The currently selected movie is what the trailer will be downloaded for
• You can select movies even with the YouTube Trailer Downloader window open
• If a movie already has a trailer, it will not allow you to download another one, as not all frontends support multiple trailers
• Only mp4 format will be downloaded, flv is ignored

Supported constructs:

• %lt - Local Title
• %ot - Original Title
• %st - Sort Title
• %py - Production Year

Main Window¶

This window is NOT modal, and still allows you to access metabrowser allowing you to select a different movie to search for trailers for.

Download¶

The available resolutions for the .mp4 format will be displayed for you to select and download. Click one of the resolutions to start the download.
