Trial

Added by Tbone0410 3 months ago

I have downloaded the trial and am muddling through. I seem to be able to fetch stuff for movies & TV Series (although all my tv series came in as movies), but not for individual Seasons / Episodes. I also cannot save anything. It was my understanding that I'd be able to fetch for everything, and only save some things.

1 - How do I bring things in as TV Series instead of Movies?

2 - How do I save the data?

3 - How do I get info for for individual TV series episodes?

4 - I am currently between Xbox's (RROD) so I am using the Sony Media Streamer (similar to PS3) to stream stuff to my TV. Is there a specific plugin to use for the Sony?

Would really like to understand this, get it to work, purchase and process my entire collection.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey,

1. For anything to be identified as a TV series/episode, each episode must be under a valid season folder, for example:

\\Server\TV Show\MyShow
                       \Season 1
                                \s01e01.mkv
                                \s01e02.mkv

                       \Season 2
                                \s02e01.mkv
                                \s02e02.mkv

2. In the trial, anything that does not have (trial) written in front is saveable. The save button will be enabled for those items. Also make sure your savers are enabled (have a check next to them) in Settings->Movies->Savers and Settings->TV->Savers.

3. The trial won't allow you to process entire series/season, but you can fetch metadata for each episode individually.

4. No there is no specific plugin for the sony, are there any specs on the required metadata needed for the sony media streamer?

1 - Thanks
2 - Thanks
3 - when I try to fetch episode info all I get is file type AVI - nothing else is added - even when I do it for The sample shows from here. I have IMDb.com and TV.com and TVDb fetchers installed. They all return the same.
4 - Thanks - I'll investigate further

Please help with #3

Hey,

3. The series level must have metadata for you to be able to fetch season/episode level metadata....now that I think about it, you might not be able to save series level metadata in the trial (oops)...oversight by me, sorry, I'll have a look into it for the next update.

For the time being, as a test, you can use one of the following attached series level metadata files for Glee (just save it in a series level folder and refresh/rebuild metabrowser collection).

Take Care

tvshow.nfo - xbmc (4.3 kB)

series.xml - mediabrowser (3.2 kB)

(1-3/3)
