The upcoming switch to movie.xml
Fatal,
With the upcoming switch to movie.xml for MediaBrowser 2.5.2, I'm guessing this would just require an update to the MB saver plugin. What do you think the turnaround time for that will be, and would it be possible to maybe have it do both for a while until 2.5.2 hits release? I ask because for those of us running beta versions, We'll need to switch ASAP (latest beta has made the switch), but most won't need it until final release.
Thanks!

Hey,
Yeah there might be a need for me to allow saving in both naming formats (and also reading, with movie.xml taking precedence over mymovies.xml), at-least for a while, because people might not upgrade to MediaBrowser 2.5.2 and might be happy with their current setup of MediaBrowser which reads mymovies.xml.
I'm going to add options in the MediaBrowser saver, probably as follows:
- save mymovies.xml
- save movie.xml
- delete existing mymovies.xml (if save mymovies.xml is unchecked, if also using MyMovies frontend, you obviously do not want this checked)
That should cover it I think and conversion would be pretty easy by just running a Process All on your media collection filtered to movies.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Will you be able to read current mymovies.xml and convert them over to movie.xml instead of it redownloading? For those of us who have changed some values in the xmls this would be nice.

Yes, as long as no "movie.xml" file is present, it will read the mymovies.xml file (as long as you're not using the MyMovies management software which now encrypts the files) and then use that as it's metadata and then save it accordingly per your settings, for example, to movie.xml.

Sounds like a plan. With ebr's latest mention that the latest beta while using the movie.xml will still fall back to mymovies.xml, at least it's not an all or nothing yet.
